Dear Students, Esteemed Faculty Members, and Staff,

Good morning to all of you.

It gives me immense pleasure to stand before such a vibrant and promising gathering of young minds here at Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar. Each one of you represents not only the aspirations of your families but also the future of our society.

Today, I would like to emphasize an important message — the need to take your academics seriously while actively engaging in extracurricular activities.

Your academic journey is the foundation upon which your future is built. It equips you with knowledge, critical thinking, and the discipline necessary to navigate life’s challenges. I urge each one of you to approach your studies with dedication, sincerity, and a spirit of curiosity. Remember, education is not merely about passing examinations; it is about understanding, questioning, and growing intellectually.

At the same time, education is incomplete without participation in extracurricular activities. Whether it is sports, cultural events, debates, or community service, these activities play a vital role in shaping your personality. They teach teamwork, leadership, time management, and resilience — qualities that are equally important for success in life.

Balancing academics and extracurricular pursuits may seem challenging, but it is this very balance that helps you evolve into well-rounded individuals. Do not limit yourself to the classroom — explore your talents, discover your passions, and make the most of the opportunities available to you.
